Why I use English language on my website

As you can read in my biography my nationality is Greek, but there were several reasons that made me keep my personal website in English only.

Firstly, I decided to use an international language in order to allow everyone to be able to read this website. If I would have used Greek, then only Greeks and a handful of people would be able to read it.

Secondly, I decided not to make it bi-lingual because it would be much more difficult for me to maintain my website. If I had English and Greek it would be more time consuming to update both sides whenever I changed or posted something.

Thirdly, it helps me with SEO. This is something that only people who are involved in Search Engine Optimization procedures could understand, but the point is that searches in English are far more numerous than searches in Greek. So from a SEO perspective it's much better to have content in English!

Finally, there is one more reason that I'd like to use English on my website. It may be a little funny, but it's true. By continuing to write in English helps me to stay in touch with the language and even improving my English language skills.

So I would like to apologize to the people who cannot read English, but I truly believe that the above reasons are more important (at least for me) than to offer content in Greek for Greeks who don't speak English.
